In times of increasing complexity, persistent crises, and limited resources, international cooperation needs approaches that build on existing community strengths and ownership. Positive Deviance (PD) is such an emerging approach. It demonstrates much evidence of jointly discovering and scaling new local practices that already make a difference against all odds. As a powerful way of promoting social and behaviour change, PD is generally applicable to complex problems in all fields of work. It has already created great impact by promoting transformative practices in areas such as gender, health, education, food & nutrition security, mental resilience, violence and crime, etc.
This workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn together, facilitated by Prof. Arvind Singhal, one of the leading global experts on Positive Deviance (PD). You can experience a growing international PD community of practice, hosted by NORAD, GIZ, and SNV.
